One such tool is <strong>Apache Flume.<\/strong><\/p><p>This is a tool for collecting, aggregating and moving large quantities of logs. This solution has been specially designed to handle high volumes and throughputs.<\/p><p>To this end, Apache Flume is <a href=\"https:\/\/datascientest.com\/en\/decoding-hdfs-unveiling-the-core-of-hadoop-distributed-file-system\">written in an HDFS.<\/a> In other words, a distributed file system that manages large data sets.<\/p><p>The idea is to enable users to access files on the shared storage system. And they can do so from any server on the network. All resources can thus be shared much more easily.<\/p><p>Thanks to its ability to handle large volumes of data, <strong>Apache Flume<\/strong> is particularly well suited to peak workloads.<\/p><p>After several redesigns due to an overly complex architecture and indebted code, <strong>Flume OG (old generation)<\/strong> has become Flume NG (new generation).<\/p><p>This has enabled the tool to offer users more advanced functionalities and simpler operation. In fact, it was listed as a Top Level<strong> Apache Project<\/strong> in 2012. The most common are the following:<\/p><ul><li><strong>Avro:<\/strong> enables communication between different Flume Apache agents.<\/li><li><strong>Spooling Directory Source:<\/strong> facilitates reading of incoming files.<\/li><li><strong>Syslog (TCP or UDP):<\/strong> the idea is to capture events from a syslog server.<\/li><li><strong>HTTP<\/strong>: translates POST and GET requests.<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>This list is not exhaustive.
