In today’s dynamic economy, solo self-employed professionals embody the spirit of independence, creativity, and flexibility. They navigate entrepreneurial challenges and actively contribute to digital and ecological transformations within their industries. Recognizing the unique position and potential vulnerabilities of this group, the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs has introduced the ESF Plus program KOMPASS (Compact Help for Solo Self-Employed Persons). This initiative offers financial support for tailored continuing education and training, enabling solo entrepreneurs to build resilient and sustainable business models.
What is KOMPASS?
KOMPASS is designed to assist solo self-employed individuals in fortifying their businesses against crises and ensuring long-term viability. The program provides a financial grant of up to €4,500 for individually selected training measures. This support is available once within a twelve-month period, allowing entrepreneurs to enhance their skills and adapt to evolving market demands.
Who Can Benefit from KOMPASS?
The program targets full-time solo self-employed professionals who:
- Reside and operate their business in Germany.
- Have been active in the market for at least two years.
- Employ no more than one full-time equivalent (FTE) employee.
What Types of Training Are Supported?
KOMPASS offers funding for training measures with a minimum duration of 20 hours, which must be completed within six months. The scope of supported qualifications includes:
- Business Management Skills: Enhancing knowledge in areas such as finance, marketing, and strategic planning.
- Digital Competencies: Developing skills in digital tools, online marketing, and IT solutions.
- Professional Expertise: Gaining industry-specific knowledge to stay competitive in one’s field.
Solo self-employed individuals can choose appropriate training providers and courses with the assistance of KOMPASS focal points, ensuring the selected measures align with their unique business needs.
Our training programs meet KOMPASS funding requirements, making them fully eligible for financial support. This allows participants to invest in high-quality education without financial constraints.
